Who are you, really?

So you’re a mom. You had a kid or two in the city, and then one day you landed in the suburbs. You commute, or you don’t. You love your work, but wish you had more time with your kids. Or maybe love the time with your kids, but wish you had more time and space for other experiences. No matter what, life is really full, and still kind of new. Most of the people you meet are through your kids, their classes and activities. Most of the conversations you have with adults are regularly interrupted by said kids and are usually about said kids, which means that your story rarely comes up.

That’s why we need a moms group that’s about more than being a mom. It’s about our experience in the world. It’s about getting to know each other in a real way – our complete, complicated and sometimes conflicted selves. It’s about being honest, open, and a little vulnerable. We’ll gather monthly on a weeknight, and there will definitely be food and wine. We’ll talk about what makes us worry, what makes us happy, what totally intimidates us, and what brings us true satisfaction. The goal is that, together, we’ll discover who we are, really.

Young and experienced moms are encouraged to join, because we all deserve this time for ourselves. First meeting will be Nov. 6 at 7:30pm.
Co-leaders: Jordanna Davis (jordanna.davis@gmail.com) & Bethie Miller (bmiller@larchmonttemple.org)
